Others Experiences

More stories of others experiences with GlitterSniffer Cosmetics, and a point of clarification regarding GlitterSniffer Coesmetics.com. Aside from the first one, all stories are published anonymously, and edited only to remove personally identifying information.

In September of 2010 GlitterSniffer Cosmetics launched their independent site. The site was to aid in moving GS to 'the next level' in terms of sales. The site has been unused since January 2011, after the Paypal accounts for the company were shut down for a TOS violation. According to WhoIs.net the domain is set to expire on May 19, 2011. The registration for the domain is held by 8th Day Creations.

I emailed the proprietor of 8th Day Creations, who had this to say about GS:
I am the owner of 8th Day Creations and we were approached by GSC to handle their website prior to all of the unfortunate events that have happened. Our business only purchased the domain name for her which was then transferred shortly after to her. I just wanted the public to be aware that we are in no way associated with GSC. Thank you!
More unreceived product, both prior to the December 2010 recall and replacements that were to be sent for recalled or unreceived items bought using the store credit option offered in the official recall. This customer was refunded by her bank.
I won the auction bid for the Makeup lot. This was for all the makeup items people had donated for the charities plus a complete set of the GS website colors. She contacted me the first week of December, not sure the specific date. I had to wait to send her the money until the 11th of december though. I used paypal to send it to her, including 10 dollars for shipping and a note for what it was for. I never received it. At first I was understanding because everything was happening with the intial blowup on her fanpage. Not to mentionit was Christmas time so I felt generous. Sent her an email telling her to take her time and get back to me when she could. This was after she announced the bad pinks. In this email I even told her I didnt care about the bad pinks, she didn't have to send them. About Mid January she finally got back with me and we sent emails back and forth, one because I was confused about how the 2dollar pots in exchange for money owed worked. Because at this thime she also owed me a little over 120 for other missing items. Pretty much I told her she could keep the auction items if she just reacutioned them off for charity. All I wanted was my owed 120+ dollars. I was getting annoyed with at this time, I felt like she was purposefully drawing out the conversation so that I would miss the 45 day deadline. Finally she agreed to my request for the Valentine's Day collection and the rest of what I was owed in the 2dollar pots. I had told her I refused to use google checout and therefore sent her an email with all my information in it- all she had to do was print it out- this included what I wanted. The last email I received from her confirming this was February 8th- over the 45 day paypal reclaim period. As of this point I thought all my loose ends were tied up and was waiting to receive my product. Then redacted came into my work. She knew I was expecting something back from Lela for my owed money and missing charity. So she was rather confused when she told me Lela had told her that I didn't want anything back. Yes, Lela on the phone apparantly was confused when redacted asked what I was going to be getting and said nothing, that she had no idea what redacted was talking about and told redacted to have me call her. Let me say I gave Lela my number, told her the hours I worked so she could call me so we could work things out. This was my final staw. I had a confirmation email from her saying I could get these items and now less then a week later she forgot or was confused? I was not happy- went to my bank anf filed through them.
The PayPal receipt and a Delivery Confirmation number that never updated:

Another report of an adverse reaction, possibly due to the use of GlitterSniffer Cosmetics. The products used were purchased prior to the recall and included the recalled pigment House of Horrors:
to be honest i think most people will find it circumstantial, but the burning I had was pretty intense.  Like i said, I had to leave a work meeting to clean it off, could barely see out of my eyes as I went to a sink.  Came back with red eyes, and my boss was like, are you ok?  and I said, yes, some makeup got in my eyes.  It burned for a while afterwards but at least I could see better.  Never had that problem with makeup before, i only used cover girl stuff till I discovered mineral eyeshadows and started buying GS.  I havent had an issue since stopping GS.  After waiting so long to use her stuff, and having nothing but positive results with other brands, it explains a lot about what was happening when I used her pigments.  I remember thinking that it couldn't be her stuff causing me the pain, because hers is all natural vegan and eye approved.  That's why I was blaming the eyeshadow glue, thinking it had gotten in my eye.  I can assure you, I've gotten the glue in my eye since and that was not the problem at all.
I would NEVER have purhased anything from her if I had been informed about the possible danger.  My eyes are my livelyhood, as an artist I would feel a complete loss of purpose in life if I were to lose use of my eyes.  I am so ANGRY that she just sells products without any care or regard for others health and well being.  If I actually thought I would be refunded I would go that route.  As I am sure that I wont be, dont want the drama or hassle, and dont want to send back the pigments and wind up with nothing to show for it, I will keep all my piggies and use them for art supplies.  At least I can put them to good use and it is not a complete loss on my part, just an expensive lesson for sure.

I waited after her big appology to see if she was making changes for the better, I honestly believed her appology was genuine and she was trying.  I know better now.
I want to thank everyone for sharing. I hope that these stories will continue to shed light on GlitterSniffer Cosmetics past business practices and assist consumers in making a safe, informed decision.
