Overview-Start Here
I have received a few emails over the last few days inquiring about specific information as it relates to GlitterSniffer Cosmetics and the recall. I can appreciate that the amount of information can be overwhelming, and I am posting these quicklinks in an attempt to make it a bit clearer to those who have recently been alerted to the situation.
Here is the original statement posted by GlitterSniffer Cosmetics, since removed, regarding use of unsafe soap dyes and other non eye approved, nonvegan ingredients.
Here is the recall list and refund information.
Here are the posts on labeling.
Here are the posts on veganism.
Here are the posts about others experiences, including pictures of possible unsafe formulation and packaging, repackaging, and the voicemail left by proprietor Lela Warren for a customer.
Here are the posts with all the complaints I filed, and any followups.
I hope this helps in breaking down the situation and makes it a bit easier to navigate.
3/14/11 and 2/18/11: ETA: This entry was originally posted on 1/20/11 at 8:33 AM. The only change made was to the date so that it may be found more easily for any new readers who have been recently alerted to the situation.

Others Experiences
I received an email today regarding one persons experience in attempting to obtain a refund. I have permission to publish, but have not yet heard back on the issue of privacy, so I am posting it anonymously for now. Should the submitter decide that I can publish their name I will edit this post.
I cannot pursue this avenue of recovery as I have switched banks since the purchase, and it is presented here for informational purposes only.
Thank you, anonymous!
It was a few days after Christmas, when I realized my trying to get a refund via GS would be fruitless. Lela didn't seem to think it was important to address me (as well as others of course) so I decided to take it up with my bank. I called the number on the back of debit card and got in touch with the claims department. The women I talked to was very accommodating, she asked me the date of the claim, the amount and what I actually purchased from the company. I explained it to her, as well as telling her that on the fan page she had told everyone to file for a refund because she wasn't sending out any more packages. (Before the whole only certain pinks or reds, and neons thing) The asked for a link to the facebook page and if the post was still up. (Of course it wasn't.) But they made a note about it and told me if I had any more info about the claim to call back. So this morning I call back and fax them the screen shot of her asking for a refund. They tell me that they are going to add this to the system as well and then they will get back to me about a refund in the next 30 days. The screenshot mentioned in the email is located on this blogs Facebook page and it details GS request that disputes be filed to obtain a refund.

And so it goes...
I have not received any further responses from any of the complaints I filed. I understand that it will take some time for them to process them as I'm sure they get hundreds per day.
There's a ton of incoming traffic from various links. If you've shared this link, whether it be that you agree with my actions, disagree, or are just sharing out of morbid curiosity as to why someone would be so singleminded about something, thanks.
I did not start this blog to get attention (as an email I've received suggests) nor to"kill" anyone's business (same email). I did it so I can keep straight everything I've done in my efforts to recover a refund. If other people find value in it, so be it.
As for trying to harm GS business, well, I don't think I can do anything worse than what they did to themselves when they made the choice to use unsafe pigments.
And, to answer another question from that same email, no, I am not worried about any legal repercussions regarding anything I've posted here. Everything here is factual and true as far as I know. If it's not, I'll edit it and retract it, as stated in my Purpose post.
Oh, and no, I've not received a response as yet from either my Paypal money request, or my email to GS. I'm starting to feel a bit like that newspaper deliverer in Better Off Dead, asking for his $2.00 that no one has any intention of paying.
And so it goes...
